inspirational story

"Explain God".

"One of God's main jobs is making people. He makes them to replace the ones that die so there will be enough people to take care of things on earth. He doesn't make grown-ups, just babies. I think because they are smaller and easier to make. That way He doesn't have to take up His valuable time teaching them to talk and walk. He can just leave that to mothers and fathers.

"God's second most important job is listening to prayers. An awful lot of this goes on, since some people, like preachers and things, pray at times besides bedtime. God doesn't have time to listen to the radio or TV because of this. Because He hears everything, there must be a terrible lot of noise in His ears, unless He has thought of a way to turn it off. "God sees everything and hears everything and is everywhere which keeps Him pretty busy. So you shouldn't go wasting His time by going over your mom and dad's head asking for something they said you couldn't have.

"Atheists are people who don't believe in God. I don't think there are any in Chula Vista. At least there aren't any who come to our church.

"Jesus is God's Son. He used to do all the hard work like walking on water and performing miracles and trying to teach the people who didn't want to learn about God. They finally got tired of Him preaching to them and they crucified Him. But He was good and kind, like His Father and He told His Father that they didn't know what they were doing and to forgive them and God said O.K.

"His Dad (God) appreciated everything that He had done and all His hard work on earth so He told Him He didn't have to go out on the road anymore. He could stay in heaven. So He did. And now He helps His Dad out by listening to prayers and seeing things which are important for God to take care of and which ones He can take care of Himself without having to bother God. Like a secretary, only more important.

"You can pray anytime you want and they are sure to help you because they got it worked out so one of them is on duty all the time.

"You should always go to Church on Sunday because it makes God happy, and if there's anybody you want to make happy, it's God. Don't skip church to do something you think will be more fun like going to the beach. This is wrong. And besides the sun doesn't come out at the beach until noon anyway.

"If you don't believe in God, besides being an atheist, you will be very lonely, because your parents can't go everywhere with you, like to camp, but God can. It is good to know He's around you when you're scared in the dark or when you can't swim and you get thrown into real deep water by big kids.

"But you shouldn't just always think of what God can do for you. I figure God put me here and He can take me back anytime He pleases.

And that's why I believe in God.

the youth in KENYA: idea well recieved

the youth in KENYA: idea well recieved: its good you have come out with this strategy. ihope we shall unite and share our ideas.

Them Days in primary school( the letter of love)

(dedicated to all pupils and students in Rukuini)
Every time I rewind my mind when relaxed, I mostly revolve around my primary school life (you can call it elementary if you want). Full of adventures from going swimming during class hours, hardening head to a teacher (who one thought you can beat up despite our size) drawing toons and branding them someone's name and all kind of mischievousness. Maybe when you're reading here you remember something of sort. especially if you learnt in somehow reserved school.
I went through several schools, but the most memorable is Rukuini primary school in Burnt Forest area, Rift valley province Kenya. the life was uncontrolled there. Everybody did what they thought was right. We wrote letters to our girlfriends, using "haranguing" and "fabulasticaliously beatifulyer " which we thought wooed the girls at that moment. And miraculously they did love us. They too did the same and we loved them. All those days seemed not to end, and I really miss them.
Sometimes one person was talented in writing this letters which made people flood him with gifts of mahindi choma(roasted maize), ubuange(or kaboru. its fried maize flour) and mifefe (maize stalks which we believed were sugar-cane.). And not forgetting Jussy cola. If you remember this you must be laughing. If you're not you must be sick.
This, however happened to those in rural schools mostly. Like our Rukuini.
Recently i was going through my primary books as old as 10 years old and found five letters, two of which I had written to a girl and three belonging to a long lost friend. Letter writing is the part that intrigued me most. It is in Swahili and English and Kikuyu and Kikalenjin. This is what we called "Sheng"  which by that time we did not know because it was spokken in the Urbanite.

I told GOD: Let all my friends be healthy and happy forever...!

GOD said: But for 4 days only....!

I said: Yes, let them be a Spring Day, Summer Day, Autumn Day, and Winter Day.

GOD said: 3 days..

I said: Yes, Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow.

GOD said: No, 2 days!

I said: Yes, a Bright Day (Daytime) and Dark Day (Night-time).

GOD said: No, just 1 day!

I said: Yes!

GOD asked: Which day?

I said: Every Day in the living years of all my friends!

GOD laughed, and said: You INDIANS know how to negotiate.

But since you are praying and asking happiness for your friends, I can't refuse.
I love everyone who thinks of others first, so don't you worry...
All your friends will be healthy and happy Every Day!

THE OFFICE KUNG-FU

Kung Fu can happen anywhere, kitchen, living room, toilet, and in school-mine found me in office. The manager was not in, and i could not resist the urge to perform my basic Fu skills. The Chi (the power in every person that need to be channeled through Kung Fu) was flowing into real life. It is just a basic Kung Fu Move. The sophisticated part of it cannot be shown here, not unless i am kicking some bad guy ass!!!!

WHEN THE SUN FAILS TO SET......

Sometimes back, a friend called and told me that he had won a green card, and that he was on the move of packing up his belongings.
I really questioned how the green card had been  processed quickly, leaving all other belonging to us. you see we had applied as a group out of fun. Nobody could stop Johnny from packing up; I even broke up with him because I refused to help him pack up, and hid some of his valuables: a woofer, DVD player, flat screen Sony HD TV, two cameras and objected owning up of a computer he had lent me.
It all  happened so quick and we wished our stubborn Johnny a good journey to wherever the hell his stinking green said he had been invited.
Listening to my heart, I knew that all was not well. This is Kenya, I told myself.
You see, Johnny was a maverick. He knew town life and rural life alike. he was a jack-of-all-trades on any issue, and he never lacked answers.
So, we missed our Johnny for a week. Before he came back.
Johnny had been conned a lot, even mentally as it was apparent from the looks. He was filthy and dirty, hungry, bent and gray and old.

Explaining his predicaments to the amused Us, he told us of how he had gone to show the card in JFKA airport, as the card directed. the authorities there had mistaken him for a psycho in clean clothes as that was not the protocol.
Some guys offered to help and that is how he met his fate. They were the bad guys.

So beware of those on-line offers, subscriptions and invitation.
OH, ad for Johnny to survive, he sold me all his valuables that he had left me. In fact I am using his computer, now mine to blog this post.!!!

Great news for all of us that hate drinking our 8 glasses of water a day

In a number of carefully controlled trials, scientists have demonstrated that if we drink 1 liter of water each day, at the end of the year we would have absorbed more than 1 kilo of Escherichia coli, (E. coli) bacteria found in feces. In other words, we are consuming 1 kilo of Poop.

However, we do NOT run that risk when drinking wine (or rum, whiskey or other liquor) because alcohol has to go through a purification process of boiling, filtering and/or fermenting.

Remember: Water = Poop, Wine = Health

Therefore, it's better to drink wine and talk stupid, than to drink water and be full of shit.

There is no need to thank me for this valuable information: I'm doing it as a public service!

Filming in East Africa

East Africa has not been left out in the industry of filming. With its vast landscapes and wildlife sanctuaries in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania, East Africa is being marketed worldwide as a filming site. Many films are being shot in the east African coast, on the mountains- Mount Kenya, Kilimanjaro and the Mt. Elgon. Sanctuaries and game parks dominate the Hollywood movie maker’s diaries yearly with several films being shot in Kenya and Northern Tanzania game parks.

In the recent years, Kenya and by extension, Africa has become a favorite location for Hollywood and Nigerian Nollywood movie makers to visit and shoot films. Numerous feature films, comedies and documentaries have been produced here. Some of these have won international acclaim. In the list are:
White Maasai ,The Constant Gardener, Tomb Raider, The Cradle of life, To walk with Lions, Nowhere in Africa, The Rise and Fall of Idi Amin, Sheena, Queen of jungle, Ode and Equator.
Some which have been partly shot in Kenya are:

Survivor, Mission Kilimanjaro for Canada and The Great Savannah Race for France.
“The Constant Gardener" was shot on a location at Loiyangalani, Turkana and Kibera in Nairobi, with scenes from Lake Magadi. It has won over 18 awards and 40 Nominations. Among the awards are 'the best supporting actress in the Golden Globe and Academy Awards of 2005 for -Rachel Weiss and Best Editing in the British Academy of Film and Television Arts awards. The director of this film-Fernando Meirelles lobbied to have it shot in Kenya than in South Africa as that was its first choice.

The producer of 2003 Oscar-award winner, "Nowhere in Africa", Mr. Peter Hermann, changed his mind and decided not to shoot it in south Africa then he came to Kenya for this film making after he saw "I Dreamed Africa" .This film was shot in northern Kenya in the Pokot land among the Pokot tribes people.

"Nowhere in Africa" was shot in Baringo, Bogoria and Mount Kenya. This film is ranked the best foreign film in 2003. It became the second flick shot in Kenya to win the coveted global awards, after "Out of Africa" bagged the best Picture category in 1985.

"Tomb Raider 2" which stars Angelina Jolie was partly filmed at Hells Gate National Park and Amboseli National Park, home of the African's largest elephant herds. It is here that Disney drew its inspiration for many of the scenes in the film" The Lion King”.

I ATTENDED KINORU BUT I WAS NOT HAPPY

I attended the peace prayer meeting in Kinoru stadium Meru, Kenya this Thursday just like any other person, but i was a journalist.
The meeting was lively with several ministers and many MPs boarding the bus of PNU Alliance. The stadium was flooded with masses also waiting to fit in the bus. All through it was smooth from when Jirongo came in a copter and Sonko in his jeep--and his open shoes. Until the time of leaving.
In the commotion that happen when the top guys are leaving (probably it is meant to confuse any person with ill motives not to know who has left in which car), i followed one of the disguised guests closely as he rushed into one of the tinted cars. I dont know if it was his or not, because moments later a guard threw him out of , in presence of the public, soiling his suit.
Am not embittered by him being kicked out but the mode the guard followed. He did not have to be kicked out(i mean physical kick, the guard used his leg),and in the public.
I thought it was a peace meeting. The guard should have told him out peacefully.

Maybe that is what guards are taught to do. And i think they are also taught to wear uniforms.

Besides, guards are trained to shield the top guys from the misbehaved public, not from fellow top guys.

Interesting Fact about the Pope John Paul II death

Pope was living 85 years - sum of those numbers = 13 Pope died on 2.04.2005 - sum of those numbers = 13 Pope died at 21.37 - again - sum is equal.... 13 13...that's Maria's number - only that time Holy Mother was showing herself to 3 children in Fatima On 13th May 1981 - Pope was wounded and that time was saved by Holy Mother On 13th Pope went to the hospital for the first time. On 13th died the last child of three from Fatima to whom Holy Mother showed up. Pope died on 02.04.2005 at 21.37. Add all those numbers.... 2+4+2+5 = 13 2+1+3+7 = 13 13+13=26 26 years of pontificate......Coincidence? Or it had to be like this? In the end......he died in 13th week of the year...and when you multiply the time of his death 21 x 37...you will have 777 Pope was living exactly 31 thousands days...if you reverse figures...you will get 13 AGAIN!!!
